Here is the poem Alex wrote for the Cowboy Poetry contest. Hers did not get picked to be published in the book. Out of 25 final poems only 5 were picked from our school, they were all from fifth graders. This was a county wide contest, Alex should be very proud she was picked as a finalist. Alex was a little sad she didn't get published. I, on the other hand, am very proud of Alex. She is an amazing writer with an awesome imagination.
We plan on matting and framing her poem along with a picture of a cowboy she has painted. Way to go Alex! We love you!!
