Moves and Pianos!

This weekend we got our workout for the summer! We helped Clay's mom move into a new house. It took numerous people from her ward hours to pack everything up. Two U-Haul trips later she was mostly moved. We spent the rest of the weekend getting her unpacked and settled. By the time we left yesterday her house was livable with a few boxes here and there. I did nothing but sleep and rest today. I'm wiped out but glad we could help out. There wasn't a good place to put her piano in her new house. She wanted her grand kids to have it over selling it. I called my dad who just happened to be in the neighborhood at my Grandpa Stanley's house. Within a couple hours it was loaded in the truck and making it's way to our house. Uncle Will brought the piano up to us today on his way to work. The girls love it!
Anyone know a good piano teacher, this piano is about to get a work out!

Little Brother builds a Big house.

Today we spent the day at Dad's house. We hiked out down to the South 40 to help Uncle Will on his new house. The cement was poured last week and the framing begins next week! Will has awesome taste and is a clean freak so his house is going to be amazing I'm sure. From the real granite counter tops to the custom bathrooms this guy is going to have him a house!
I of course was in charge of supervising and getting sunburned. Supervision complete, check. Sunburned, Check. My job here is done!

Will and my Dad work well together. My Mom gave the girls the box from one of the tanks. They didn't come outside all day. When we called it a day and went inside, they had a cool little fort complete with a "Boys Ceep Out" sign.

Tanks are in, one little leak, not a whole lot of tool throwing, and lunch provided by Will and we had a pretty great day! One of these days we'll build a house. Good job Will!

What does your husband do?

My husband's job in a nut shell. Don't ask me what he does, I won't know. All I do know is he enjoys his job very much. A happy husband is always a good thing!

If the neighbors give a piggy mac and cheese.......

.....Then the piggies come out in broad daylight to eat it and our dog goes nuts! This was the view from on our pool ladder looking into the alley behind our house. Last night we had 8 big javelina eating mac and cheese and 2 brand new baby javelina sticking close to their Mom. When is Javelina season again? Our dog is really wanting to go run and play with our little piggy friends. What a good watch dog!

Party at the Doziers~ BYOBS

We had a party at our house the other night. Our invitation must have gotten lost in the mail because we weren't invited! We did end up crashing the party though, that will teach them not to invite us! BYOBS~ stands for Bring your own bird seed. Those darn javalina, over the course of two nights ate the whole block of bird seed! They're fun to watch when they're out back rummaging in the bushes. There were four out front this night. Clay pulled up and saw me looking out the front door and turned his lights on bright. They didn't budge. Then he pulled in the drive way and got out of the car and they still didn't budge. He finally had to throw a rock and they ran, only to return minutes later. From now on the bird food goes in the back of the truck at night. Not the greatest pictures, but Javalina aren't the greatest creatures so..... Where is Uncle Colin and his bow and arrow when you need him?!

I got a gonga!

I went to this store Fallas in Douglas over the weekend. Fallas in Spanish means mistakes. You have to weed through a bunch of weird and interesting clothes but you can find some really good deals if you look. Clay got a whole new summer wardrobe for about $20! These dresses were no exception. They were marked $16.99 which I thought was OK but once we got to the register they rang up at $7.00. Wooohooo! For church dresses that's a great price. I've found shoes, dresses, shirts, an pants there. We do a lot of our back to school shopping there. They have Walmart and Target brand and also name brands from Dillards and JC Penny as well. I love shopping there. I bought the girls valentine's dresses there and saw the same exact ones at Macy's for $28.50. Talk about a ganga! If you need cheap prices but really good clothes, look for Fallas!

32....where did the time go?

So I had a birthday yesterday. I'm not really one for being excited on my birthday. I hate getting older. I feel like I graduated high school just yesterday, when in fact it's been 14 years. I feel like just last week Clay and I were being married and starting a family but that was almost 13 years ago! Where in the world does time go?? I have to say, this was one of my best birthdays ever. My wonderful husband, who does not like social events what so ever, joined me at school and ate lunch with me. This year is the first year I have worked on my birthday. I was a little grumpy in the morning knowing it was my birthday and I had to work. The girls at work were awesome, completely spoiled me. I got a plant, some socks, a book, chocolates, tons of food including my favorite....jalapeno bagels! There was a lot of happy birthday songs from all the kids at school. Then my amazing husband shows up and surprises me with roses and lunch! I was feeling better by then for sure! We ate in the cafeteria so the girls could eat with us too. Considering my husband had only gotten 4 hours of sleep and he dislikes people and noise, this was a huge event!

Then when we got home from school he took us out. We went to Olive Garden to eat (YUM), we took my wedding ring into the jeweler to be fixed after months of disrepair, then it was off to Claire's to get all the girls some bling!. Then we went to Walmart and shopped a little and ended the evening at the bookstore. Perfect! I didn't buy any books because I just got a kindle but I walked around writing down titles names so I could download them when I got home. Once we got home it was time for cake! We were all so tired after a full day that we called it an early night, plus Clay was still going on 4 hours of sleep and starting to look a little zombie-ish soo....

Happy 32 to me (I wish it was 23 but what can ya do)!! I got tons of calls and cards. It's nice to be loved. Thanks to everyone who thought of me on my birthday. I couldn't have had a better birthday!

Sydney's school concert

My camera stinks but hopefully you get the picture! Sydney had a music concert on Monday night. She said she was so nervous her legs felt like jello when she was standing at the table playing the instrument in front of everyone. The concert was for grades 3rd through 5Th. The auditorium was packed, standing room only.
Then for the finale the 4Th and 5Th grades played songs on their recorders (flutes). It was really good.

They did better than I thought they would. The kids have bee practising hard for weeks. Sydney did awesome!

Our hats go off to the music teacher!

Keep up the good music Sydney!

Mother's Day part 2.

My family is awesome!! I had the best Mother's day ever! After church they went right to work on making lunch. The girls made Ramen, I made the salad.... And the king barbecued. I had a yummy steak cooked perfectly. We also had chicken and hot dogs. Do we know how to grill or what? They also bought me a super chocolaty cake with cherries on top, YUM.
Then it was time to open presents. I got a kindle!! I've been wanting one forever. I've already finished one of the books I bought for it. I love it. My cute little case was made by Amy, I think it was supposed to be a make up bag. I had been using it as a first aid kit in my purse but it fits my kindle perfectly!

Sydney wanted a Kindle for Christmas. I told her there was no way she was getting one before me. As soon as I opened mine on Mother's day she asked if she could get one now! I told her we'll have to share for a while to make sure she really wants one.

Alex also got me a music CD. I think she bought it for herself so she could listen to C Lo whenever she wants. Yeah, we rocked out in the car on the way to school on Monday morning.

I love being a mom, thanks family. I love you!

Little League season!

We went and watched our first game of the season yesterday. Our friends Kade and Madison were playing so we went to cheer them on. Kade is number 5 and Madison is number 9 on the orange team. Kade pitched three or so innings. It was really exciting and the girls had a ton of fun!
Alex has been begging for a mitt so she can play catch with Kade ever since he taught her how to play catch. She's always asking if we can go buy a mitt and go to Kade's house so she can play catch.

First game down, many more to watch!

This isn't happening!

I thought it was bad enough when she turned eighteen but now she has to graduate too! Kalynn was so small when I started babysitting for her mom. We spent our days flying kites, lying on the floor on her big pink pig watching Barney, reading books, playing out in the yard, and taking naps. We had some good times together. I think I'm the mom I am today because I got to spend so much time with Kalynn as she grew up. Congratulations Kalynn (even though you graduating makes me feel like a dinosaur), I'm so proud you. You're beautiful and sweet and kind! Have an amazing future!

Science Fair Season!

Science Fair season is here again. I dread science fair projects. I didn't like doing them when I was in school. I really don't like helping do them now! My girls are amazing. Science is an area in school that honestly interests them. This is Sydney's project this year. It turns out both kids and adults like cookies better when there's more sugar in them. She did a great job. I was really impressed. Once she started there was no looking back, and no complaining. I'm glad it's over but I really didn't do much this year. I think I'm actually looking forward to next years science fair projects!
