Surprise!

We had a surprise baby shower at work for one of our teachers. She is due next month with a little boy. I was in charge of the quilt. Each staff member brought in 1/3 yard of fabric, wrote a little message with fabric paint, I cut the material into squares and went to work. It turned out so cute! This baby boy made quite the haul at the shower! Everyone wants a quilt now. I told them they had to have a baby to get one.
We decorated the library. Everyone brought their favorite dish, and SURPRISE, a party we had! She was so surprised. I'm just glad she didn't go into labor, we were all a little worried that might happen.
With a staff of mostly females, we sure know how to cook and throw a party! It was a lot of fun. Good Luck Jenny, we love ya!

After the party I went home ( I took the day off and ditched. I got to spend the WHOLE day with my husband. What a fun day!), to help Clay with a little plumbing problem. Little isn't quite the word. That's a whole nother post so stay tuned! Ugh, I hate plumbing problems!!!

I love to see the temple

Today we went and toured the Gila Valley Arizona Temple. One word says it all..... Amazing! OK well maybe a few more words than one..... Beautiful, awe inspiring, magnificent, spiritual, perfect, heavenly. (just to name a few) My mom went hunting with Will to be the cook. My dad asked me to take her place because they had signed up to be security/usher at the temple. I didn't want the girls to miss out on the occasion so I took them with me.
We showed up an hour early for our usher duty so we went and toured the temple before our duty started. It was amazing, inside and out. The girls were very reverent, had lots of questions, and their faces said it all. It was a very spiritual and touching experience.
The Angel Moroni. Not many understand the symbolism of this statue but it is quite a sight as you look heaven ward and see it gleaming in the sun. Awe inspiring.
After our tour of the temple we stood/sat out front and directed people to where they needed to be. It was very windy but not cold thank goodness. There wasn't much for the kids to do but I never heard a complaint. They liked saying Hi to everyone and looking at all the people, and people there were! They came by the bus and van load!
The mountains in the background were a great back drop for this special day. From the stake center to the temple it was BEAUTIFUL.
The girls were very reverent inside and out. While inside, Alex leaned over and told me in my ear, This is where I want to get married mom. I'm sure they will never forget the beauty of the temple and the spirit that was felt inside. They loved looking at the temple and walking around the grounds. They wanted to go in again and again. We plan on going again before it is dedicated. We can't wait to take part in the dedication ceremony. I think this really helped the girls feel the importance of the temple.
What a beautiful and magnificent building. I am so glad it is close to home. I look forward to many trips to the temple in the near future. On a side note. Guess who went on the tour in our group. Harris Thompson and his lovely wife Karen. Yep, that's right Josh, your mom and dad. It really is a small world. We saw tons of people we knew. When we stopped to eat at Arby's on the way home we saw Coach Comaduran. A very small world. It was a truly spiritual day and I am so glad that my children got to experience the temple.

April Snow!!

This morning when I woke up it was snowing. This is no April Fools Day joke people! It was snowing, in April, in Bisbee! Clay left for work early. Fifteen minutes after he left he called the house and said I should wake the kids and go up to the tunnel and play in the snow. I thought it was a good idea! There was no one else on top of the tunnel so we had the mountain to ourselves. It was really foggy and the snow was still falling.
You'll notice in all the pictures it's just Alex. Sydney didn't want to play in the snow. She didn't want to get out of her warm bed or get dressed either. (Good thing I have such a wonderful husband. He RE-hooked up our heater after his hot complaining wife told him to turn it off and get the cooler ready last weekend. Thanks Clay, I love you!) So, Alex and I braved the snow and went and played.
I had just packed all our winter clothes away last weekend, good thing I hadn't made it to the coat closet yet!
We went hiking up a mountain. Alex was ready to go. I kept making her stop to take pictures, she has a smile on her face but I don't think she was very happy with slow picture taking mom.
Then I let her climb up this hill and do whatever she wanted after one last picture. Then the fun really began!
After sliding down hills, getting dirty, cold red hands and noses, it was time to hike back to the truck.
When we got to the truck Alex said, OK mom you can take one more picture and that is it! Little did she know, that was the last picture of her taken but I planned on stopping off along side the road all the way home and taking pictures to send to our favorite news station KGUN9!
We found our truck and our cargo safe and sound where we left it. Sydney chose not to play in the snow but mean old mom made her get shoes on and sit in the nice warm truck with some blankets while mom and Alex played in the snow.
On the way down the mountain we stopped and took a picture of Old Bisbee, very foggy, very snowy, but hopefully you get the picture. It was SNOWING!
I think my roses are gonna freeze. It looks like someone stood in our poor rose bush. The rain and snow did a real number on these little ladies today.
The roses were so big and pretty this year. I hope they don't die, Maybe you should cover them, Alex tells me. I think it might be a little late, but we'll trim them down when it's dry out and see if we can't get some more growing when it gets warm. This is nice April weather for a change. Good thing we don't have school on Friday's or we probably would have had to take a snow day! As long as the sun is shining and hot come May 26 (first day of summer vacation) I'll be a happy girl!

Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day! Alex's shirt says.... Think Green Live Green.
Sydney's shirt says.... Home Sweet Home.
Alex had to recycle something into something else for a class project. We covered a book in a paper bag but we already turned that one in to her teacher. Last night (after Dad finally drank all the milk) we made a bird house out of a milk carton. We have a fun day at school planned with lots of Earth Day presentations and programs. Avatar came out on DVD today so tonight is movie night, and the movie fits right in with Earth Day!

We love our chicks!

Everyday the girls rush home from school to see their chicks. They love to take them outside and play with them.
The little black ones are always roosting on the food and water containers. The girls think it's funny, mom on the other hand gets a little annoyed. I'm the one that has to clean the poop they leave behind off of the containers. Not to mention all the poop left behind in their cage. I'll be glad when they get their feathers and can go outside to the chicken coop. I knew chickens pooped but it seems that's all they do at this point.

The girls love them, and cleaning out their cage isn't too hard so......I guess we'll keep them!

Bubble blowing fun!

While we were visiting Grandma, she bought all the kids a surprise. BUBBLES! Grandma has the perfect yard and back porch for blowing bubbles. The weather was beautiful, we had a hard time staying inside. Most times when we go to see grandma it's too hot to go outside and play without having to come inside in a few minutes.
All the kids had a great time with all the different bubble blowing toys Grandma bought.
They all took turns using each others bubble toys. It was so much fun to watch. Even the little guys could blow bubbles and have fun. I think Braydn's bubble gun was the coolest. It blew massive amounts of tiny bubbles. The laughter and giggling that you heard made it fun to just sit back and watch the kids be kids.
Alex's bug was pretty cool too. When the kids went inside I had fun trying out the bug blowers. It was fun! It's like blowing a whistle but bubbles come out and the wings of the bug spin. It was a great gift from Grandma. Thanks Grandma, we had fun!

Cousins!

We love our cousins! We haven't seen our cousins for a while, I think since Christmas. We all went down to Grandma Wings house to hang out until Harrison's party. Being with our cousins really made us miss all those who couldn't come. We missed Uncle Colin for sure, seeing his little boy and wife was very fun though. We missed Aunt Tara and Uncle Josh and Victoria and J.J. too! It just wasn't the same without them. Hopefully we'll get to see them this summer. We also missed our cousin Araya, her living in Montana means we haven't seen her for quite a while. I think a trip is in order! Autumn got to come down on Friday night and hang out with the girls. It was so much fun. My girls get sick of just playing with each other and Autumn only has Brothers at home. We had a girls night out with Grandma.
The boys and their Mom Chalice came up on Saturday and met us at the birthday party. I can't believe how her kids have grown since we last saw them. I got my baby fix. Baby Treyson was so much fun to feed and hold and play with! Thanks Chalice for sharing him!!
Even Colton has grown up a lot! He was talking and playing and having a good time with everyone. He cracks me up. I would say Colton come here, I want to give you loves. He would say NO and smile. Then I would say Aunt Roxy loves you, come here. NO and run away is what I would get. I did get loves from him. He doesn't like to give loves as much as I want them so I understand after a day with me why he was running away!
And then there's my buddy Treyson. We hung out a lot together. I wish we could hang out more. I loved snuggling with this little guy. The other kids were busy playing with one another, to busy to stand still for a picture. We loved seeing our cousins and can't wait to see them again!

Harrison's First!

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY HARRISON!I tell ya, this little guy is so cute!Harrison had his first birthday this weekend and boy does he know how to party. There was a ton of yummy food, lots of friends and family, and great fun. We had so much fun visiting and sharing in his special day.
He loved his presents, and wow did he get presents. He loved all the music books and toys. He even broke out in a dance a couple of times. Mommy says he likes the cars we got him. It was fun shopping for a boy for a change!
Amy, I tell ya, she's a cutie too! His little panda bear cake was soooo cute. Amy is talented in all areas. If I tried to make this cake it would probably come out looking like a skunk.
Harrison wasn't quite sure what to do with his cake but once he figured out it was yummy to eat, he dug in. We don't get to see Harrison and Amy much because of our school schedule but summer is just around the corner. Hopefully we can visit them again soon! We love you guys!

Easter Bunny and Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunny went a little over board this year, but hey they're only young once right?!The girls had a great time wearing their Bunny ears and playing with all their Easter toys. The Easter Bunny didn't bring any candy this year. Thank goodness! We always have to throw candy out around here! (can you see the science fair projects in the background? Thank goodness that's over!)
Then it was off to the Annual Easter Egg Hunt. What a great day for it. The weather was beautiful, we saw tons of friends, and enjoyed spending the day together as a family.

It was a packed house this year. Glad we went early to get a good parking spot and a good seat!
The kids were so excited to get down on the field, they had a hard time standing still for a picture.
Alex and her BFF Yasmine! Alex had to have her hair cut short just like her BFF. These girls are pretty much inseparable at school (at recess anyways since their in different classes!)
The girls with their FULL Easter baskets. There were over 5000 Easter Eggs this year!! They must have gotten at least 25 hard boiled eggs. We didn't win any prizes this year but we didn't care. We had so much fun. We can;t wait until next year. Actually I can, I'm pretty sick of eggs at the moment!
