Two nights in a row!

As I predicted, Alex lost another tooth. Yesterday morning before school I got out the floss and out her tooth popped. She didn't feel it at all. She kept asking me if I was done. I just laughed and told her it was already out. She ran and put it in her tooth fairy pillow. Perfect timing, since she was seeing the dentist at school yesterday (both girls have ZERO cavities!) A number of kids got their loose teeth pulled so I was glad Alex didn't have to go through that. It's bad enough when moms helps the tooth come out. This morning she woke up to all the riches a tooth can give you. She got five dollars for this tooth. Man, our poor tooth fairy is going to go broke! If Alex keeps losing teeth the tooth fairy will be next in line for a bailout! I checked both girls teeth this morning and no loose ones to report. Thank goodness for that huh tooth fairy!
She's a big kid now!

Toothfairy and tears!

I bet you can't guess who came to see us last night! Yep, that's right. The Tooth fairy! Alex finally lost her first tooth. She'll be 7 this year. Isn't that kind of late to lose your first tooth? Sydney was the same way. Sydney was the only kid in her Kindergarten class that didn't lose a tooth.
It's really hard to even tell she lost a tooth. Her two permanent bottom front teeth have been in for awhile but her baby ones never fell out. My dad was just commenting this weekend on how she probably needed them pulled. Then out one pops (with some help from mom and a little crying from Alex)! The other baby tooth is really loose so it'll probably come out today. Once again just like Sydney. I think Sydney lost about 5 in a week. She hasn't lost any since but she sure cleaned out the tooth fairy. Alex got four dollars from the tooth fairy. She was so excited to get something from the tooth fairy she wanted me to pull the other loose on right away (she chickened out though)What a lucky girl!

Two girls, a dog, and a trampoline.

Put that all together and you have non stop FUN! As you can see the wind has beat our poor trampoline net to death. Good thing thing we have another one waiting in the wings. We aren't going to replace the old one until we absolutely have to. The girls LOVE the trampoline. Now that the weather is warming up (now only if we could get rid of this darn wind!) they are always outside jumping.Alex is still a little unsure of jumping with CASSIUS. He is always ready and willing to hop up there and show them how it's done. They have so much fun jumping with him. He gets rowdy but all you ever hear is laughing and GIGGLING.
He's really getting the hang of the whole jumping thing. He loves to chase his tail on the trampoline. The other day after school, we put the SPRINKLER under the trampoline. It was so funny to watch him try to pounce on the water. We'll have to get some VIDEO of that and post it.
When ever I get on the trampoline he gets REALLY wild. He loves to try to get my piggies for some reason. My stomach hurt so much today after laughing and trying to get away from him. It was so much fun. What an AMAZING dog we have!
Sydney likes to JUMP with Cassius. He's really good at being calm with the girls. He knows to be more gentle with them. When Clay walks outside, or me, Cassius knows it's PLAYTIME.
He was TRAINED by his previous owner to do some tricks. When we feed him, before we give him his food he has to do his tricks. He can sit, lay down, shake, give a high five and jump up for a treat. I love to take him for a walk every evening. The girls are so EXCITED to come home from school every day and play with him.
Clay use to have a dog that would jump on the trampoline with him. He is LOVING this dog.
The girls have never been happier. Cassius came at the perfect time for our FAMILY. We're very happy to have such an amazing dog join our family. The girls are going to have so much fun playing with their new PLAYMATE all summer. We can't wait to be out of school so we can play all day.

Saturday Matinee

Today we were all up early. Once the house was clean it was only 1o AM. What are we going to do the rest of the day? We could super clean, walk the dog, pull weeds, or even exercise. Who wants to do those things when you can do something fun! Nana and Papa called and asked us to meet them at the mall for lunch and a movie. We went to the theatre and watched a movie the girls had been begging to see. It was funny. It was better than I thought it would be. The kids laughed really hard, and so did Nana.
Alex's favorite character was B.O.B. she thought he was so funny. She can almost say every line of his and she's only seen the movie once. She doesn't forget anything. She laughed so hard when the great big alien smashed B.O.B.

Sydney liked The Missing Link the best. He was all macho talk but still gets showed up by a girl. She likes it when he's showing off his karate moves and pulls his back out.

My favorite was B.O.B. too. He made the movie so dang funny. I liked all the characters. Susan was pretty cool, and empowering to little girls. Insectosaurus was the only non talker. I like him in the end as a silly looking butterfly. All the characters were funny. This is a movie we will have to add to our shelf as a keeper.

All in all it was a great family movie, with little inside jokes for the older crowd. After the movie we went home to a nice clean house and waited for Daddy to come home. I love Saturday's like this one.

I have to have these.

Can you say.......GENIUS! I'm so sick of my kids sharing their lunches! Talk about expensive. My sweet little girls think WE need to feed everyone and their dog! I'm either going to have to get these gross out bags or just start buying them gross food that no one would want. Chances are they wouldn't eat the gross food so I'd just be throwing my money away.
It's amazing what some people can come up with. Who would've thought moldy sandwich bags were a winner!

I've seen a lot of lunches go missing from the fridges in the teacher's lounges. I guess I should say, It's amazing what some people will take (and eat). Some people (when hungry enough) wouldn't mind the mold at all. They'd be like my Grandma and just trim the bad parts off. Not me! I would very quietly put that moldy sandwich away where I found it and make a bee line for the nearest loo and loudly expel what ever WAS in my tummy. Mold is NO GOOD for me! What a great April Fool's Day trick for a hubby or kids. Since fake pregnancy tests and massive amounts of debt on credit cards have already been used, this is at least something hubby could deal with! Speaking of April Fool's jokes. I remember the year my mom told my dad she wanted a divorce (not the best idea) for April Fool's Day. He just looked at her and said, "Well, if that's what you want"! I don't think she's tried to do an April Fool's joke on him since. Be careful Fools!

WOW, I'm actually blogging about moldy sandwich bags. Is there anything I won't blog about. I must be pretty bored and need a topic REALLY bad (plus I think they're so cool). If you don't think they're cool you've never had somebody eat YOUR lunch!
If these lunch bags wouldn't make you rethink your lunch options you may need to get some help. Your poor tummy!! So for those parents out there whose kids come home saying my daughters shared a moldy sandwich with them, don't call me. I already KNOW!

A Day With Harrison

We loved visiting little Harrison (we had fun with his mommy and daddy too!) A day off of school couldn't have come at a better time. We didn't get good Friday off of school this year. So we had last Friday off instead. Harrison was born on Saturday and by the following Friday we were visiting with him! I kind of forgot what it's like to have a little one. How you feel, how your body feels, how emotional it can be. It's been awhile. Once I stopped and thought about it I realized it may not have been the best time to visit. Poor mommy and baby were still recovering and here come the Dozier girls! Amy and Harrison were very gracious and nice to let us visit. I promise next time we'll give you guys a few weeks to recuperate!Sydney didn't hold the baby much, she most certainly takes after her dad! She liked to hold him when he was sleeping but the minute he started to squirm or cry, she was officially done! That was fine with me, more time for me to hold him.
Then there is Alex. She is a baby hog (just like her mom)! She held Harrison more than me I think! She loved holding him, she would just stare at him. I kept asking if she was done and she would always say not yet.

She even stopped playing with Uncle Colin so she could hold him. Wow, this girl loves her Nephew.

What is better to take away the baby hungry blues than holding a brand new baby. Thanks Amy for sharing your little man with us! We had a great time with you guys and look forward to visiting again soon! So, after a weekend of holding Harrison, seeing him squirm, hearing him cry, smelling his dirty diapers I'm glad to say the baby hungeries have gone away slightly. Now what am I gonna spend my time thinking about??

Cassius.......and Clay

We've been debating whether or not to get a new dog since Angus died. Angus was a very special and unique dog and we knew he would be hard to replace. We also knew we would need a few months to mourn his loss and get the yard ready for another dog. Well the time has come. Meet our newest family member Cassius (named by his previous owners but fits right in with Clay). A friend of ours that works at the school with me asked if we were ready for a dog yet. I said I wasn't sure. Then she showed me pictures of him and I was sold. We arranged a meeting with the girls and the dog to make sure everyone would be happy. It was love at first sight for both parties! He loved Alex, liked to stand by her, and run with her. It was a great meeting so I decided we would take him home with us right then and there. He did awesome riding in the truck. We made it home safely. Now the only thing to do was to show him to Clay.
Cassius and his favorite girl Alex!

The smile on Clay's face says it all. We all stayed outside for quite a while playing with Cassius and helping him adjust to his new home. We got his doghouse and bed all ready and when nightfall came he was out for the count. No whining, no yelping, no barking. I hope that means he likes it here as much as we like having him here. The girls (Alex especially) LOVE their new dog. He's amazing and very well trained. I'm so excited to have a dog again (not to mention a little relieved at night when he barks).

Easter Fun!

Part of our annual tradition is to go to the annual Easter egg hunt in Bisbee with Nana and Papa. This year was no different. The egg hunt is put on by our local firemen. Each fireman dyes 10 dozen eggs, on top of that about 120 additional dozens of eggs are donated and dyed by local volunteers. This year there were over 6000 hard boiled, dyed eggs. In addition each firemen donates a roll of quarters as prizes. Every year we have gone we have always left with some sort of prize. The kids love it!

This is what Alex's age group part of the field looked like. They had the least amount of kids in this age group so getting eggs was a piece of cake. Alex got an egg with a P on it so she got to go and pick a prize. Now, this is nothing like the Garner Family Egg hunts (you know, egg hunts where eggs are actually hidden) I went to growing up but it's still fun.

You can never have too many family Kodak moments.

Sydney and a good buddy! You can never have too many of those either. She was so glad to see some of her classmates. Sydney's age group went from 7-12. She needs to get way more aggressive if she wants to win more than 75 cents next year. She ran fast but is so nice if someone got to the egg before her she just let them have it! She's our super polite little rockstar!

Daddy videoing Sydney's mass of eggs while Sydney tries to catch her breath. I'm so glad Nana made deviled eggs with all the eggs the girls brought home, or else we would probably still be eating eggs today.

All in all we had a great Easter. We celebrated the more worldly views of the holiday with a visit from the Easter Bunny and an awesome egg hunt. We also celebrated the Resurrection of our savior at church. I'm glad the kids can celebrate with the fun bits that make Easter a special family holiday. I'm also glad that they know the real reason for Easter and that they love their savior Jesus Christ, and that they are grateful for the sacrifices he made for us. I'm so thankful for our special little family and the fact that will be a family through the eternities.

The playdate of all playdates!

Sydney invited a few friends over yesterday. Talk about a bunch of giggly, hyper, funny, little girls! WOW, did they have a good time. First we had snacks, I don't think Easter candy was the best snack for a bunch of little girls. We did eat grapes and crackers too. Then they painted their nails, jumped on the trampoline, and played with the weebles. How many of you know what weebles are? They're toys for toddlers. Yeah, my kids still get a huge kick out of them. Too bad you can't find them any more except on Ebay or a few discount stores. These toys last forever and can stand up to an eight year old playing with them. The girls had a blast. I think Daddy was wishing we had had some boys. Ever seen Coneheads the movie? Clay said all he could think about was the part when the Dad conehead was driving his daughter around with her friends and the friends were all singing and laughing. Too funny.
Alex is having her first play date at a non member, non family friend's house today. Here's the catch........ no Mommy or Sydney. She's very excited ad a little worried. She was having second thoughts last night but she seems very excited today. This will be so good for her. Hopefully make separation from us a little easier on her. We'll see how long she lasts!

He's Here, He's Here, He's Here!!

I'm so excited I just can't keep it to myself (hope mommy and daddy don't mind!)
Our newest Nephew was born this weekend! Harrison Timothy Dozier arrived on April 11, 2009 at 10:20 AM. He weighed in at 8lbs. and 7oz. and 21 in. long (if he's anything like his Daddy he'll be one tall glass of water!). From what I hear the birth was fast and Mommy only had to push 10 minutes (but I'll let Mommy blog all the fun details). Go Amy!! Now we haven't seen him in person yet but we're positive he's the cutest little boy ever!

Aunt Amy and Uncle Colin, we're so excited for you. I can't wait to see you guys on Thursday and get to spend some time getting to know little Harrison (plus I get my baby fix!). See you soon, we love you guys!

This just in....

So I'm sure all my millions of fans have been wondering where I have been (or at least the two or three important ones I have!). I've been here and there, but I'm proud to say not ill! My mother in-law got me started on a vitamin supplement (it's called Reliv for those who want to know), and I've been a whole new woman since. I feel a 100% better, I sleep better, I'm less emotional, and eating less, have more energy, and I actually feel like going in to work. I had gone to the doctor because the corners of my lips had been cracked for months, (very painful and unattractive). I had tried everything to get them to heal. On top of being really sick every other week since last summer, it was getting to be too much. I was at the point I was willing to try anything to get well and stay well. Anyways long story short, he said I had a vitamin deficiency. I started taking Reliv and Walla all better! Feeling good also means spending less time blogging and sulking around the house. It's been nice to work a full week at school and not have to take any more sick leave. I was beginning to wonder if I was ever going to get better!. I'm still going to see a specialist about my immune system because I'm still not 100% better but I feel sooooo much better that I have for months now!

Sydney is at a friends house tonight. First time ever going to a non member, non family friends house. It was a little scary seeing her get on the bus to go to her friends. I had met the mother this morning and knew they lived in town but other than that all I had was a phone number (it did comfort me a LITTLE bit that the mom is a school teacher here). Sydney did call once to check in so it relieved a lot of my worries. I probably shouldn't watch so much CNN, it freaks me out all the horrible things that are out there waiting top get my little girls. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and let your little girls experience something without you. I can't wait for Sydney to get home, but I'm glad she's growing up and getting to know other friends besides her little sister.

Now for those of you who know my hubby, you're going to love this little tidbit! He's actually gone to help a friend right now. Yes, my hubby, Mr. Anti-social himself has a friend and is at that friends house right now! He even talks to this guy on the phone. I KNOW, amazing huh?? He doesn't usually answer the phone for anyone, let alone someone who wants to talk to him. YAY we may get a social life yet!! For my B-Day next month I'm asking for a double date, no kids, movie and dinner night. Not to much to ask for right??

Other than that nothing to exciting going on here. We are all looking forward to summer break. Next year our school will be going to a four day work week. Not to sure how that will pan out so you'll just have to stay tuned! Now if the WIND would just STOP blowing maybe I wouldn't be so grumpy!

Have a great Easter!

For Em!

Emily, I just heard you had baby Olivia!! Congrats!! I can't believe what a bad cousin I am. I should have gotten this gift to you for your baby shower. Sorry! So here is what I am sending you. I'm not sure how the yellow will fit in in her room but feel free to change anything. I'm sure between you and your mom you can make anything look AWESOME! The Olivia name thingy is from my mom and the onesies and the books are from me. I'm not sure if you already have any of this, but I sure hope not. The name Olivia is perfect (we love the books and cartoon show too!)
Just know that we're thinking of you. We hope everything is going well for your family and your new little girl. She'll be so grateful when she gets older that she has two really cool older brothers to stick up for her! Hopefully we'll get to see you guys soon. Let us know when the blessing is. We've been checking your blog often for pics of Olivia, take your time. We'll just keep checking. You enjoy your new little girl!! We love you guys!

A A A

Fooled you huh? You thought I was going to blog about some anonymous group or something. Well..... I'm not.
This blog is about our Amazing Aunt Amy! We managed to keep everyone healthy for a weekend and headed up to Phoenix for Amy's baby shower. Wow what a haul! Our new little nephew won't have to worry about what to wear for the next year or so. I bet she could change his outfit 5 times a day for a whole year and still not wearing anything twice. Just goes to show how loved you guys are! Our family will be getting two new nephews this year. To say were a little excited is the understatement of the year!! Having no little boys of our own we get REALLY excited when boys join the family. The baby shower was a blast. Tons of yummy food (like these yummy sucker cookie things that Amy needs to blog so we can have the recipe!), tons of fun and chatty women and not to mention, TONS of presents.

Always ready to have fun
Unique in everything she does
Never too busy to play a game
Terrifically talented

Amazing mommy, aunt, friend, wife, sister, sister in-law

Makes visiting family so FUN!

You are one of a kind Amy and we love you!

We even got to spend time with Uncle Colin. What a great weekend (minus the wind). We also made it to the new Aquarium (Amie we will definitely have to get together and go there in the summertime. Looks like you guys had a blast too!), Sydney absolutely loves sharks so this was the best thing that has happened to her (or so she says). Our favorite thing about it was getting to pet a real live sting ray! Slimy and hard but very COOL! So after a baby shower, zoo and aquarium, toy store shopping, and a cook out we headed back home to rest!
